Written by Nuel

Pinterest on Monday launched a new app aimed at making it easier for creators to Livestream to its platform. The new Pinterest TV Studio app for iOS and Android will allow select creators to go live on Pinterest as well as use multiple devices to achieve different camera angles, the app’s description states.

The company didn’t announce the app’s debut — perhaps because it’s not broadly available to all creators at this time. Instead, upon the first launch, creators have to enter in a code or scan a barcode that Pinterest provides to gain access to the live streaming tools the app provides.

Nonetheless, the expansion of a devoted live streaming application is one more illustration of how Pinterest is reexamining its spot in the more extensive web-based entertainment scene, where TikTok’s ascent has pushed different stages to take on a video-first concentration. Today, significant social players including Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and YouTube have a TikTok-like brief video highlight accessible, and most proposition highlights for making live video content.

Pinterest, in the meantime, has been chipping away at its video endeavors with the send-off of Idea Pins, a kind of video-first mashup of both TikTok-eye blister short-structure video content and tappable Stories. The organization during its profit last week said it’s seen more than 25% development in the saving pace of Idea Pins quarter over quarter. Furthermore, Pinterest clients who follow numerous video designers on the site will generally visit Pinterest more frequently than the people who don’t, the organization shared.

Meanwhile, Pinterest last November also announced the launch of Pinterest TV — a series of live, shoppable videos from creators focused on food, home, fashion, beauty, DIY, and more. The shows air live, then later become available for on-demand viewing. The platform was initially only available to select, hand-picked creators at the time of launch, including folks like Christian Siriano, Monica Suriyage, Tom Daley, Manny MUA, Robyn Schall, and others. It had earlier in the year tested live-streamed events inside the Pinterest app with top creators.

As per information from Sensor Tower, the spic and span Pinterest TV Studio application has been live on the App Store and Google Play since May 2, 2022. It has not seen enough downloads to rank the application on any application store outlines and the firm can’t appraise the all-out downloads as of now.

Notwithstanding, the application is accessible in a few business sectors outside the U.S., including Canada, Australia, the U.K. also, and Germany — flagging a possible worldwide extension of Pinterest TV endeavors.

Pinterest affirmed the send-off with an assertion yet said it didn’t have more to share about the application right now.

“With additional Creators creating inventive programming with Pinterest TV on the Platform, we’re ceaselessly exploring different avenues regarding better approaches to assist Creators with rejuvenating their thoughts,” a representative said.
